Dagmar Thierer (Technical assistant)

I am working in the long-term project of spotted hyaenas in the Serengeti which covers questions of behavioural adaptations, evolutionary ecology and molecular epidemiology of pathogens. I have applied the following methods to tackle and solve some of the questions:

  • Genotyping (Microsatellites)
  • Paternity analysis
  • Molecular epidemiology of carnivore pathogens / Molecular techniques (PCR, rt-PCR, Sanger sequencing)
  • Sexing
  • Access Array system (48.48) for Illumina Sequencing
  • Immunology (ELISA test)
